27 May 2008

Hi all, it's been a while since the last update. It's been busy year so far, can't believe it's almost half gone already!

I would like to thank Baskey for the latest endorsement.  Check out their super-cool  Ruggluggs at www.baskey.com

It's been a busy one on the clinic, masterclass, session and workshop front.  The Cyba*Drummer project has also been keeping me on my toes.  The rig has progressed a fair bit and is a pleasure to play.  Check out the show at festivals this summer as well as popular venues across the UK and Europe.

The Drummerbuzz site will be online shortly, we battled through server issues and hope to finally get it back on track soon.

Thanks again to all my endorsers for their continued support and top products - Mapex, Paiste, Pro-Mark, Roland, Hardcase, Jalapeno, Aquarian, Baskey, SE Electronics, World Tribal.

25 February 2008

I'm really looking forward to getting the Cyba show on the road again this year.  After loads of time in the studio, a rig 'refresh' and prep'ing new tracks it all looks set to kick of in March.

The first '08 cyba-gig is scheduled for the 20th March at the Clapham Grand in London for a headline slot and some uber-super-cool guest artists appearing on stage with me including:

WhistleJacket (Jor-gio, award winning dude - vox),

Paul Glover (Pure Reason Revolution - drums)

Martin Potts (Korg UK - drummer, udu king),

Bobba Swan (International touring drums)

Ben Griffiths (FireFly, Exoria - drums)

Mike Simpson (Inspire Works - djembe player extraordinaire)

Jo Williams (Touring vocalist, theatre - vox)

Tickets are now available at £6 from either myself, Laura Bradford (Street Team) or any of the above guests.  They can also be purchased on Ticketweb (please note that you're buying to see 'cybadrummer' in the space provided when purchasing - it has to do with quotas) happy days!

Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

09 October 2007

I was recently given the incredible opportunity to share the stage with Zoro (drummer for Lenny Kravitz, Bobby Brown etc), Tommy Aldridge (Whitesnake, Ozzy, Thin Lizzy - I'm a huge long time fan of this dude), Jerry Brown and other fantastic artistes, what a week that was! I opted to use the Cyba-kit and showcased a new track or two.

On the 22nd Sept '07, the Beat2Beat Part 1 DVD (drum set techniques) was released.  Presented by Terl Bryant with Dez Minto and I, this is part of a series which'll be followed by intermediate and advanced releases.  Copies are available for purchase, contact Drummerbuzz Management if you'd like to place an order.

It's official, Calum, Terl, Liam and I are now official Guinness World Records(tm) holders!  We've received our certificates and the final approved time was 22 hours 5 minutes and 23 seconds!  Well done guys, it was an absolute pleasure working with you in an event I'll never forget!

I look forward to getting my CYBA*DRUMMER demo out.  Some new gear just received which'll looks to hugely enhance the quality of the material.

2007 has just arrived and already things are starting to get busy with various projects around the globe.  Next week I'm off to present a drum workshop in France immediately followed by a trip for workshops in the Far East.

On the Cyba*Drummers front; rehearsals have begun in earnest. Matt and I've been preparing every aspect of the show, from the songwriting process to the finer tech bits with onstage video, sampling and all that fun stuff.  The tour is planned for kick-off in March '07 and will run all over the planet with guest artistes appearing from time-to-time.  More info to appear on our website soon.

Wishing everyone peace, hope, success and happiness for 2007.
